This could be another illustrating example for our Notion of Proxemics:
Position/Orientation - Depending on the position of their people in front of the screen, they enter a different mode:
- sit down (d) -> pause the game and offer the possibility to switch to using a token to continue playing while sitting or switch to a different game that is suited for sitting control
- in play area (b) -> play the game
- close to display (c) -> change settings of the game or switch to a different game/task
- enter the room (a) -> start and ask which game the person wants to play
- second person enters the room and players attention goes to the incoming person -> pause and offer 2nd person to join or select another game to play together
- second person enters, but player keeps playing focusing on the game -> continue with the gameplay and wait for the 2nd persons action (He might sit down or stand in a distance to watch -> continue one player game, or try to move around in the play area -> try to let him participate by adding him to the game if possible or offer different 2 player games, or go to the screen to force his participation)
Identity:
- Remember peoples scores and game sessions
- Remember peoples preferences and adapt start-screen accordingly
- Filter game-list so that only games are shown that are suited for the number of people present in the play area and on top match it with their preferences
Position/Orientation/Movement:
- Let people control games by moving with their bodies or moving tokens around
